Frequently Asked Questions

Content

Gieokhaebeop retrieves its data from the Ministry of Government Legislation's Korea Law Information Center open data service (open.law.go.kr).

When an amended article takes effect, its text, audio and timestamps are all updated.

However, flashcards keep the content as it was when they were created.

Yes. Gieokhaebeop obtains its data from the national law information system, so depending on the type of revision there can be a delay before a change appears in the app, as follows.

A. Promulgated first, effective later Revision Calendar data available: from the afternoon of the day after promulgation
Statute text, audio files and timestamps updated: afternoon of the effective date

B. Effective immediately on promulgation In this case, the Ministry's data is updated the day after promulgation (the effective date). So the statute text, audio files, timestamps and Revision Calendar data for that revision are all updated in the afternoon of the day after promulgation (the effective date).

The algorithm calculates review intervals based on how many times you chose "Remembered" (기억함) or "Still memorizing" (외우는 중).

Cards you know well appear at longer and longer intervals, and difficult cards appear more often.

Please report the problem from the More (⋯) menu at the top right of the Listen to Statutes screen.

We'll check it and update it with improved quality as soon as possible.

No. The statute text, audio and revision information in the app are study materials that the company has refined and generated from public data of the Korea Law Information Center, and they carry no legal effect or official authority.

The content is provided as a study aid and does not replace legal advice or professional judgment.

If you are looking for legal advice or professional information, please check the official materials of the Ministry of Government Legislation or consult a professional.
